Review of "Happy Heinys Mini One Size (pocket) Diaper"
Review of "bumGenius Newborn (all-in-one ) Cloth Diaper"
I hated this diaper at first because it kept leaking... everywhere! I didn't give up on it though and now I can use it and know clothes won't get wet. I guess, with this diaper, it is really important to fully prep it by washing 4 or 5 times or boiling.
The good thing about this diaper is that its low profile and you can make the legs really tight without having the waist too small (bad for chunky thighs I suppose). It also dries fast. I think this would have fit at 5 pounds because there is still a lot of Velcro available on the front for tightening.

Usually I'm the kind of person to save the best for last, but in this case I want to review my favorite diaper first. I actually came across the Grovia diaper on Amazon as a suggestion based on other items I bought; thanks Amazon!
When you get this diaper is says to wash it 3 to 5 times before using. I'm impatient so I only washed it once. It definitely has become more absorbent the more I use it.
This diaper has awesome elastic at the legs for skinny babies like mine. They are also adjustable with snaps on the front for the waist and the rise of the diaper.
Pros: Easy to use, doesn't leak (on my baby), and has super cute prints even for boys!
Cons: Kind of pricey ($15), always has to dry longer than the rest of the load of laundry
I wish I had this diaper for when we first brought our baby home. It will definitely fit a 5 pounder.
Cloth diapers for little babies with skinny legs
When we first brought our son home he was just under 5 pounds and we knew our "one size" pocket diapers wouldn't fit even at their smallest setting so we didn't even try. Once he reached 8 pounds (when the one size are supposed to fit) I tried them out. Saying they didn't work out is an under statement. They leaked out the legs and the top no matter how I stuffed them, lined them, or fastened them. I was pretty frustrated but I decided to try some smaller, more fitted cloth diapers before giving up. My son's biggest problem is his signature preemie chicken legs so that's what I focused on in my search for a well fitting diaper. My favorite ended up being the Grovia newborn all-in-one. The reviews of each diaper follow.
